Under the authority of the Medical Profession Act, the Yukon Medical Council is responsible for regulating the practice of medicine and medical care provided by licensed physicians in the Yukon.
All physicians working in the Yukon must be licensed by the Yukon Medical Council, pursuant to the Yukon Medical Profession Act and Regulations.
NEW: Please note the Standard of Practice for Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) is currently under review for amendment. The new federal legislation for MAiD came into force on March 17, 2021. Please contact Yukon Medical Council at ymc@yukon.ca with any questions regarding this Standard in the interim.
